Has anyone taken Zoloft while breastfeeding and if so, did it have any affect on your infant? I am scared to start taking my medication because I am breastfeeding. I have taken the medicine before and did fine on it, but never was breastfeeding before while on it. Please HELP, I need to feel good again, can't enjoy my new little one (12 weeks old).

If you intend to continue breastfeeding, talk to the doctor who prescribed the zoloft and tell them you are breastfeeding. They may prescribe something else. I could be wrong but I don't think zoloft and breastfeeding mix. I've heard of Prozac while pregnant and/or breastfeeding. Don't worry, you'll get the help you need soon. :)

I talked to the DR. when he perscribed it and he said that Zoloft was the best anti-anxiety med to take while breastfeeding and that it would not harm my baby at all. The pharmacist said the same thing. Everything I have read online says that there is such a minimal amount found in the breastmilk that it is better to continue to breastfeed that to switch to formula. I am still so scared though and want to find people that have taken it while breastfeeding and see if it had any affects on their baby. :)

I took 100 mg of zoloft while i was pregnant and breastfeeding. Everyone assured me at the time that it was safe. My son is now 4 and is completely healthy. Hope this helps. :)
