Has anybody tried pristiq yet ?? my doctor just gave me some to try today, I'm kinda of scared cannot tolerate very many meds. I now take Celexa 20mgs, ativan 1mgs trileptal 150mgs , so tired of taking meds but my anxiety & depression is really bad at the moment.

I just got off Pristiq a few days ago. I had horrible side effects from it and my doctor felt like the noreprenephen in the drug was too much for me to handle. I recently had a hysterectomy and my body is still adjusting to the hormone and chemical imbalance. I was taking Lexapro and since my anxiety had been worsening this past year my Dr. hoped that the pristiq would keep the anxiety from getting full blown. I ended up having severe nausea and worsened anxiety which ultimately cause me to get dehydrated and I had to go into the hospital for 3 days, to get IV fluids and potassium since it was low. I am presently just on 45 mgs. of remeron and 0.5 mgs of atavan to keep me calm and to help with the withdrawal from stopping the pristiq. I will probably be put back on Lexapro or similar type med once the withdrawal and chemical imbalance setles down. I have also just ordered the anxiety & depression program to help me with my problems, My Dr. said he thought the program would help me in additon to some local group therapy I am starting this week. I hope this information helps you.
