Hi there. I started back on 5 mgs of Lexapro about 4 days ago after not having any at all in my system for 2 weeks and before that, only a minimal dose every 2 days (maybe that wasn't a good thing, I don't know). I was trying to cut down even slower than my pdoc told me, but when all was said and done, anxiety started rearing it's ugly head again and pdoc suggested I consider going back. I did.
Has anyone done this with ANY med and if so, does it seem logical to have side affects going back on even though I had had it in my system originally for a few years?
Thanks for the support!

I take 20 mg of lexapro, along with seroquel, lamictal, ambien and birth control pills I take these consecutively, skipping the placebos at the end of each month to avoid periods and therefore battle pms) all at night togather.
Part of the pdocs reasoning for me taking it all at once at night is that the sleeping pills cause me to sleep through any side effects I may experience in the 8 hours or so after taking the meds. This has worked well. I still have the waking in the night wanting to randomly eat side effect.... but that seems to be from the pills that aid in sleep, not the lexapro.

Yes, that does seem logical to me. Since you have been weaning and have also not had any in your system for 2 weeks I would expect side effects. Just make sure to take your meds around the same time each day with a meal and plenty of water. Once your body adjusts the SE should go away rather quickly, this could take 1-4 weeks. Everytime you increase or decrease your dosage of Lex it states that SE can occur, just ride them out, they will go away.

Thanks, Noelle! I actually feel a bit less tense today and it's been day 5 back on my meds. I figure I may be a little "uncomfortable" for a couple of weeks or so.
