I am new to the web page but am ELATED that I found this very inforative web site. I have been suffering with anxiety contunially for the past year. Recently I switched physicains after my Primary care doctor of 8 years was not helping me. After seeing the new doctor, it felt it necessary that I be given a antidepressant ( Remeron 15mg) to help. I was on this medicine for close to a month now and have began to notice skipped/ fluttered heart beats. I have always suffered from these but with reducing cafeine and chocolate to nothing, they diappeard. However; since on the Remeron, I noticed they are back again and seem to be more than ever. I consulted my primary doctor about the problem but he is instant that it is not a side effect to the Remeron. So I took it a step further and visited my Cardiologist. After a EKG, he assure me the skipped beats were not serious and with time they should subside. NOT MUCH HELP!!!!
So again I contacted the Primary Care doctor strssing the aggervation I am having dealing with these skipped beats. He perscibed a beta blocker in conjuction with the Remeron and said this would help. Hesistant to take the beta blocker, I did not take it and discontinued the Remeron. I called the physician to inform him that I stopped the Remeron and let's just say... He was not a happy camper.
My whole concern is I have issues with cholesterol and high triglycerides and am on medication to help control it. As you can imagaine, my mind wanders, wondering if the skipped beats are connected ect...
My question is.....
Is there any one out there that experienced skipped beats while taking Remeron.
Much thanks!
