well i've been taking ativan for my anxiety for a few months now. .5 mg every nite. but the thing is i'm feeling anxiety in the daytime too, and i was wondering would it be ok to cut a .5 in half and maybe take it during the day, then a full pill at night, maybe just when i'm feeling real bad anxiety during the day.

i know what you mean. i can't take it during the day either. i would just suggest asking your doctor before cutting the pill. sometimes pills are extended release and cutting them can reduce or alter their effectiveness. feel better :)

jdog...I don't think I would cut that .5 in half!!! I think you need that .5 for night time...

You can always let your doctor know that you need that same milligram in the morning because your anxiety level elevates during the daylight hours!!!

I would definitely ask for one to take in the morning if I needed it!!!

I have Ativan 2mg tablets prescribed. The full tablet dose is for sleep or severe anxiety, but I know I'm in for the evening, no alcohol for that.
Most of the time I take a 1/4 tablet (0.5 mg) if
I have to remain alert and keep working. That usually works well without fogging me. My family
doctor and I discussed adjusting the doses accordingly, and try to go for the least dose needed, but no more than 2 mg daily. It helps.
But it has its price.
