'm pretty sure i've had anxiety all my life. The depession has recently added to it and is really messing with my life. I was on Pristiq for a lil over 4 weeks and it helped incredibly. It was fanastic but i started drinking again and experienced realy bad side effects. Should i try again or can i do this without?

I took Lexapro a few years ago, and it was a great help. I stayed on for 4 months, kick started my serotonin levels back to normal, and that made doing the program easier. Many years before I had a serious bout of anxiety/depression but they didn't have SSRI's then and I did it the "hard" way and it took longer. The difference being about a 6 month ordeal compared to a 18 month ordeal (but I didn't have the program either). But the answer is you probably don't need med's, but how long do you want to take to get better and how motivated are you?

I had a difficult time not drinking too. Not that I'm an alcoholic, I just missed a glass of wine with dinner or a couple of beers on the weekend and I had a bad reaction when I tried to drink while on SSRI's. No advice except again how long do you want to take before you feel good again and how motivated are you?
