wean off, and wean off slowly. that is so important. stopping cold turkey is not a good idea for a multitude of reasons. i would talk to your doctor, and have him/her give you a weaning off schedule. best of luck and God bless.

5 AND 10 MG seems awful low. I was on it for about 4 months, however, Imy neck and shoulders were tense all the time, I found myself clenching my jaw constantly, and having restless leg syndrome. Talked to my Dr. he said he wouldn't believe it but had had one other patient with the same side affects. He took me off of it. I was at 40mg/day he had me half a pill 20mg for 4 days then quit. I had no bad effects and all the side affect stopped imediately.

When I was on Celexa for anxiety I had to stop immediately because it was causing me to be suicidal and extremely depressed. It didn't help my anxiety at all. I was on 20 mg and I didn't have a very hard time stopping cold turkey.

I wish you good luck sincerely. I went off Paxil a long time ago, and I still remember the two days of bad withdrawl. I went from 30 mg. and weened down to 5 mg. I was fine until I stopped the 5 mg (which really is nothing I thought). I had the most bizarre thoughts and sweats/chills. I felt like a real drug addict going through withdrawl. I'm not sure when they will come out with a better drug for anxiety/depression without the dumb side effects although all drugs have bad side effects for people.
I urge you to try to go off it entirely on a friday just in case you feel stressed. I wish someone would have told me how yucky I would have felt.

I was on 40mg Celexa for 5 months. My doctor is having me decrease by 10mg each month and so far, so good (I'm only down to 30mg so far). Side effects of withdrawal are minimal.
The worst side effect of being on the med is feeling like there is a "veil" between my brain and reality. Has anyone experienced this?
