Has anyone come off lexapro or other AD's after being on them for many years? If so, could you describe how it was accomplished and with what effects?

I did before. I weened myself down from 10 mg to 5mg for a couple of weeks, then 2.5 mg, then nothing. I don't remember having any side effects.

Do NOT quit cold turkey, especially if you've been on it for years. Certainly work with your doctors, but weening is very necessary.

Charlie - Got this one too. Also found on page 14. Got the "Take Heart" thread in the OCD section as well. Looks like all our threads are here, we just have to find them.

I got a call from one of several sales companies Thursday afternoon. It was interesting because I had emailed a different contact my resume last week for a sales gig. Thursday morning I sent a follow-up message to last week's contact, and an initial message to a secondary contact. I did not send last week my resume to this secondary contact; I had her email but I guess I forgot about her.
I got a call on my cell phone and it was the secondary contact. We interviewed for almost 30 minutes. When I checked my email after we hung up, I learned she had emailed me back about a half an hour after I sent her my resume, but I hadn't checked my emailed all day. The same secondary contact got back to me yesterday with an interview opportunity with a sales manager this Monday @ 9. I naturally accepted.
I was aware of my responding feelings and emotions I was somewhat pleasantly surprised at how all this occurred with the secondary contact, and how quickly things proceeded. But overall I had a “big-wup” attitude. I realize this comes from getting burnt on the last job, and wondering how long this one will last.
Don’t get me wrong, I am glad at getting closer to getting a new job. I need it, especially since it would be some time to see if my revised business will take off better this time but also prove to be a steady income maker. If you’re entrepreneurially minded, it is ideal to start a business while already employed to see how the business goes with making money. I just know that, for me, a job is just to take care of the bills and nothing more. It’s not my life, my career or my identity.
