If you think you're ready and your Dr. is also encouraging it then there's nothing to fear if you go slowly, like you're planning to do.
What are some side effects going to do to you? Not much...they may be uncomfortable, but you'll know they'll end soon. Don't rush it; just go very slowly and remember that any funny business won't hurt you, but is simply from withdrawl. Be realistic.

KDlady,
Thanks so much for posting !!!! I have tried to wean down in the past but I think I have done it to fast . I am just afraid I will have a depression symptom , which I dont have depression but I read a few people say they got it bad after tapering and that they never had it even before starting . And depression is one of my anxiety fears. I still have anxiety while on zoloft so I am not afraid of anxiety symptoms . My mother inlaw tried to wean of paxil and she said it was like a herion withdraw and went to the hospital , YIKES !!!!!Sorry I seem like a nervouse wreck ........but I am .

I understand completely. I, too, had the depression fear, but it's just a fear; not truth. So, even if you did experience depressed feelings (which I've never heard of with withdrawl) then you do; no big deal really!
I had those nasty brain zaps, but they were harmless and just felt funny for a while, but then went away.
Again, if you go into it realistically and taper at a cautious rate, you should do quite nicely! EXPECT to feel nervous about it, to have those intrusive worries, etc. and then they won't be so intimidating.
