Hello, i am new to the program. I have realized that I have made crutches for myself to help me be less anxiou. I don't know if having these crutches are ok or not. For instance, I keep water, candy or gum (something to eat/drink)in my purse at all time, just in case of i need them. I have xanax with me, just in case I have a panic attck (though, I havent used any in a while). and I don;t like to drive long distances by myself, s i always make sure i have someone with me. I live a very busy and active life. i stay in overdrive. I have a very demanding position at work. I have started the program and trying to do my best, But is it wrong for me to rely on these crutches?

I say baby steps. One thing at a time. Start working the program and you will deal with those things if you need to when you are ready.

I still keep certain necessities on my person! Well, I guess I don't call them crutches but being prepared!
Yes, it is important to be "our own safe person" because in the event we don't have our little necessities, we can help ourselves without them.

Thank you for responding to my questions. Yeah, you are right, I need to rethink the way I view things. I know that is the main teaching in the program. Just needed to be reminded..

Yay Jenniferd, you are doing fine. I am also taking a little pill box with me in my purse. If I have one Xanax in it it gives me reassurance. I am following the program and see success- hope you are too.
