I have been on prozac for 3 weeks. Has anyone had good experiences on prozac (i am on 20mg) and has anyone lost weight on it?

Hi im pretty new on here... I am thinking of taking Prozac and was wondering how your doing with it??

I have had good luck with it in the past, and i am on the 20mg once again. It is an older drug so it takes a while to work, I think about 6 weeks is when you might see the full effect, but everyone is different too. I seem to think i gained weight on it before, but so far not this time. Good luck!!

I was on prozac for 3 weeks and it made me get a big ole appetite and i gained weight. So i am now off of it and have been anti depressant free for over a month. Its hard though. I have lost weight. But my anxiety is awful! I always have a nervous stomach )-:

I know what you mean about the nervous stomach, i always have a ball of nerves in my stomach. I don't know what causes this but i have been to the dr and had blood work and everything done and all they can come up with is anxiety!!
I wish they just had a pill everyone could take and be healed! The thing that helps me the most is prayers.
I am also trying some new herbal med and i hope that it works!! I think i will start tomorrow!

I pray too. my anxiety has gotten out of control and i know for me its time to try an anti depressant. Im going to try one called viibryd. i just need to nip it in the bud before it gets out of control.

prozac does wonders for me. I started at 10 mg and had to keep increasing because i developed a tolerance to it but it changed me and it took the edge off my anxiety. i felt normal and i'm functioning well. it takes time but hang in there. i am interested to hear how you are doing today.

I just recently started taking prozac. 20 mgs. I have had some side effects, but working through them. I am being told to give it a full 4-6 weeks. I have to take xanax to calm down some of the spasms. Has anyone else had experience going on prozac for the first time?
