I completed the program about 2 years ago. I have been very successful at working the steps and staying positive. It is one of the best things, if not the best thing, I have ever done for myself. That aside, I started taking the birth control pill again for the first time in over 10 years. I am taking one of the 3 month dosages. My question is this, have any of the ladies experienced increased anxiety because of their birth control? And if so, what did you do to change or improve the symptons.

Thank You
Laura

Hi Laura,
I am glad that you are doing great with the positives. That is super!

Yes, I did experience increased anxiety with taking the pill. I had been taking the pill for about 10 years and never had any trouble, or side effects, and had a baby...started the pill again after having the baby and the anxiety was very bad! I would have bad panic attacks. I tried the pill for about 3 nights straight and noticed that I would have a panic attack each time. I spoke with my doctor about it and he suggested that I stop taking it and try again within a month or so since I was also dealing with PPD. I did that, and tried again about 30 days later and the same thing happened again. I was so disappointed because I really needed to tak the pill, so my husband and I decided that the pill would not work for me any longer. I tried one other time about a week after that second time and the anxiety was bad again, so I knew at that point that I could not take it any longer. It is strange but I have experienced the same thing.
Hope that you can get through the anxiety.Hopefully it will pass and you are able to take the pill. ;)

Hope this was helpful.

I experienced anxiety while taking the pill (ortho) so I just stopped taking it. I haven't been on any BC for a while but I'm looking into getting the Merena IUD.
