Anyone taking Lamictal?

Post by perspectivegirl » Mon Oct 10, 2011 9:03 pm

I noticed that a lot of the posts on this board are pretty old. So is anyone taking Lamictal now? I just increased my dosage to 100 mg a day and taking it REALLY gives me anxiety. It makes my head feel heavy and it's really hard to tell how it's affecting me and what's just me affecting me aka the anxiety.

Anyone else out there?

Sorry I can't be more help. I only took Lamictal for about a week before meeting my new doc who didn't think it was the best med choice for me. I was on a really low dose and the only side effect I noticed (other than the anxiety of taking a new med) was slight facial flushing.
Good luck to you!

I'm taking Lamictal -- 200mg/day for bipolar disorder. Actually, I have not complaints about it ... it has really changed my life for the better. Along with Lamictal, I take Xanax (.5mg, 6x/day), Ability (.5mg, 1x/day) and Zolpidem (10mg, 1x/day) ... PLUS lots of vitamins.

My doctor has never said that I was bi-polar, he just says that I have a mood disorder, or
something like that. I have never really talked with him in length about what is exactly my
complete diagnosis. :? I have been on Lamictal for a while, but I am also on Abilify, Seroquel,
Buproprion, Clonazepam and Lunesta  . I am a walking medicine cabinet and I hate it.
Has anyone had any bad side effects while reducing or eliminating their Lamictal ( I am on the generic ) ?

A little late to this post but I just started taking 400mg of lamictal a day and it has helped greatly. Ive tried many different pills for my bipolar/anxiety and this one has worked the best. Im so thankful for finally finding one that works for me.

I'm taking Lamictal for a seizure condition I have. Great if it helps with the depression and anxiety I have.
