its cymbalta....anyone ever had experience with this? i took my first pill today and am experiencing some side effects like a little panic and some sweating, but i will hang in there. is this one of the stronger meds? and if so is there anything weaker i should try first?

I wouldn't stress over it. Medicine definitaly has it's side effects. If you can't handle them, you just have to tell your doctor. I've been on tons of stuff and they all have their downsides.

I've had anxiety, panic, and depression for most of my life, but it's only in the last 10 years that I tried medication. Prior to that I was always afraid to take it, feeling I wouldn't be in control. For the most part, they have been helpful. I usually asked my doctor to start me on a low dose as I feel like I'm sensitive to medications. The side effects you felt may due to anticipation and anxiety about taking the medicine. I know my thoughts sometimes cause me to feel symptoms, without any real basis. We're all supporting you in your mission to feel better!

My Dr said I may not notice any major change for about 30-40 days. It was almost 30 days t the minute when BAM I felt awesome! I was courageous and hopeful and excited and hadn't been in over a decade at the time. I am sooo glad I took the meds and got the help I needed.
:-)
Give it time.
