My depression has me going in and out of MOODS... from overly sad/depressed to the best of an almost subconscious state. It is hard to force myself to do anything. The doctor has me on lamictal... but I am still at the slowly increasing dose stage and 3 weeks with no results. I need something that will be faster in getting me through the day. Dr says it takes time. How long should I be patient for meds to kick in?

How long a time on each different med.

I had to beg to increase at a faste rate... and I may as well swallow tic-tac's.

Waitng a month or more trying each different med just isn't an option!

What has anyone outehre used that had an affect (effect?) within a week or two? What dose?

Pandora,
The one med that I take and works right away is Diazepam ( Valium ). It's an old anti-depresent from the 70's and most doc's don't use it very much being they think the new one's are better. It starts working in 1-2 hrs and only last 10-12 hrs on a low dose of 2 MG, but can take it 2 times a day I'm like you, waiting 3-5 weeks for a drug to work is intolerable.
