Hey everyone I have been taking Lexapro (20 mg) for about 4 years and I have been absolutely great. Recently though (about 2 months now) I was hit with anxiety and it just feels that no matter when I take my Lexapro, I feel terrible. Im dizzy(of balance), I feel my heart racing, fearful, lethargic, and its as if the anxiety came back and the Lexapro just stopped working all of a sudden.
Is this the famous "poop-out"?
I am vey happy with my psychiatrist, been seeing him for years. And he never prescribes meds until I am ready to take them. He supports the program and when I told him about this situation he said he wanted to wait another two months before deciding whether or not he should increment my Lexapro dose or change the drug completely. Which I like cause he doesnt automatically look to drug the hell out of me. Anyway its been about a month, and I see him next week so I am wondering if I should change my drug or increment the does.
Has anyone gone through this before?
Also I have to note that I was playing with this pill alot. I stopped taking it for like a week, then remembered, would go a couple of days and then remember. Would take it in the moring, afternoon, midnight. All weird times. My psych told me that could be the cause if this episode, but I have disciplined with it for about a month and a half now and I feel absolutely no change. Is it possible to become immune to the effects of the drug?
Also I was eating alot of grapefruit as I was dropping weight for a competition and I realized only recently that grapfruit shouldnt be eaten while taking SSRI's or so I heard. Can that be an issue too?
Yeah I have alot of issues going on, lol.
Oh yeah I have th program and done it twice with great results, but still need the Lex to keep me under control. And I dont mind taking meds if its going to make me better and calm me down enough to implement my skills from the program.
