Anyone noticed that while they've been taking Zoloft that their dreams have turned to nightmares and very vivid. I have been on 25mg of Zoloft for about 8 weeks and every since, I have had dreams every night and they are scary and borderline traumatic. My anxiety has gotten better since being on the med but these dreams have me on edge and has caused a whole new source of anxiety. I wake up anxious and it leaves me worried all day. My dreams were not like this at all before taking Zoloft. Other than this, I have had few side effects and overall doing well on it.

Jamika,

When I was on zoloft, I also had nightmares, very very vivid. I would wake up horrified. I don't understand why. Maybe you should ask your doctor about this. I'm glad to know I was not the only one. I guess it's a common side effect.

I took paxil for two years, and it also very strongly affected my dreams. except i dont think they were scary, they were just so extremely vivid and real. lots of colors and senses in them, it was scary at first. but i guess it just has to do with the chemical reaction from the drugs in your brain. maybe it is a way of the drug releasing scary anxiety that has built up in the chemicals of your brain, in your sleep. because the paxil helped my anxiety greatly and ive been off it for 5 years.

I take 10mg of Lexapro and have noticed my dreams are more vivid and seem very real, but are not scary so I can deal with it.
