Hi there.

I had been on 5mgs (1/2 a tablet) of lexapro and THOUGHT I was doing okay. I thought wrong.

So I have increased to 10mgs (a full tablet) for the last 3 days.

I am really sleepy and my anxiety seems WORSE.

Is this a side effect? Has anyone else increased their meds with a similar effect and when did things "normalize"?

Doesn't matter if you take Lexapro or not, just curious.

I think it's important to remember that people react differently to meds but for me, when I've increased my dosage (of Celexa), it took a while for things to normalize. I'd say it took about a month to stop feeling anxiety every day and several months to where I wasn't thinking about my anxiety every day.

I think you may be feeling like your anxiety is worse with the increase in dosage but it could be just that your anxiety is on the front burner right now so it's a more magnified aspect of your life at the moment.

I'd say definitely hang in there and give the new dosage time to to its thing. They say it takes 30 days for meds to have their full benefits.

I agree with missgsr, give your body time to adjust to the meds. I know how hard it is. I have to go through this every time I increase too.
