Hi all,
I've been on Lex for 2 months now and have started noticing these past few weeks that it's been tremendously hard for me to focus on things...conversations, school work, work work, etc. Anyone else have this problem?

I may have had that issue..i was taking Lexapro to help ween off my Paxil since i do experience terrible withdrawl from it. I did have a hard time focusing but im not sure why. It could have been the withdrawls it all was a blurr. I am now back on my Paxil and am feeling much better. I also took lexapreo once when i couldnt afford my Paxil years ago and seemed to be fine. If the Lexapro isn't working well for you yet, maybe you should speak to your doctor about other options. Hope this helped you!

No I focus fine on it. Could it be you are just tired or something else. So easy to think it is the meds when it just could be life.

yeah i took lexapro a few years ago and I stopped taking it after a few months because it made me want to sleep all of the time! i slept during class more than usual.
it was amazing sleep, don't get me wrong. I used to have a lot of trouble falling asleep and staying asleep.

I am currently taking Lexapro. I started about 6 weeks ago. Initally I had headsches , which still comes from time to time but not as often. The medication seems to have worked in calming me and allowing me to sleet through the nights; however, I still have those moments. not sure if it's me or the meds. Talk with your doctor. Continue to be encouraged.

Hi
I'm currently taking lexapro 10mg I started about 4 weeks ago it seems to be doing ok I just started to feel anxious again so I think I need to talk with my dr. about uping the dose otherwise it works pretty good/. It does make me really tired though you can also take vitamins too to help with anixety while u are taking lexapro.

You have to give the Lex time, some people can take up to 4 months for all of the SE to go away. I had vivid dreams for awhile, but they are gone now, I also had some breakthrough anxiety at about week 4 and week 8, each time I discussed with my doc and each time I was getting sick so he said see how I feel once I get better and if it didnt go away we could up the dose, each time it went away. Anxiety can creep back in the start up phase and when you are getting sick or fighting germs off.
Talk to your doc, take vitamins, and think positive. I have been on Lex 7 months now and I feel like myself no SE at all, sex drive is increasing and no anxiety at all.

Interesting you mentioned the lexapro causing dreams. When I'm taking paxil, it stops my dreams, if I skip a dose it's dream city.
I tried lexapro long ago and it didn't seem to work. I've been on Paxil for years and it's helped me to cope. It's strange how we are all so different. I sometimes wonder if I should try something else and maybe I'll do even better.

I've been remembering my dreams a lot more too since I started on Lex. Conveinently they've been mostly good dreams, so perhaps the serotonin is kicking in at night.
