As some of you know, I've been on my Klonopin wean down, and feel bad today. I tried to dip to .75 a day and woke up this am with my ever so popular nausea and shakes, like I'm shaking on the inside. Full anxiety, etc. Just need a little support. Anyone out there made a Klonopin wean, or any benzo. I know its just one day, and yesterday I felt great, as a fellow anxiety sufferer of course I've already convinced myself this is here to stay and I'll feel worse tomorrow. UGGGHH!!! I hate anxiety!!!!! And right now, my stomach hates me.

I can't help with the Med side, but go back to basics, positive thinking self talk distraction. Get up and go for a walk, anything stick with it, you don't want to stay on Med's you want to be off them. So look for the positive in this.

Thanks Scott, it was a hump and I made it. I've done this before and I don't know why the symptoms manifesting themselves always make so fearful EVERY time. Today was a better day, and tomorrow will be better again. Thanks for the encouragement, I will succeed.

Hello,
I know alot about weaning off of meds, and I know that klonopine is a very strong med. I hope that you are not trying to come off it by yourself and that you are working with your Dr. As with any med that you are on for an extended period of time your body has become used to having that in it's system and virtually goes into shock when it realizes that it does not have it's normal amount. When I was young I was on adult doses of Phenobarbital until I was in 5th grade, when they started to wean me off of it. It took a full year for me to come off the medication. So although I understand how badly you want to be off your meds, you may find that if you take it just a bit slower and cut back in smaller amounts you will probably feel much better. But whatever you do, I wish you the best.

Thanks for the info, and yes, I know. My Psych doc and I work very closely together. I don't go off on a whim, I cut by .125 of a mg every 10 to 14 days, and not until we are both sure I am ready. I've done it twice before in the past 10 yrs, always successful, but always work. I don't mind being on meds, but do know that Benzos have long term effects that I don't want to get into with steady use. I take Lexapro daily, and hope to get down to a minimal dose of the K by years end. I am in no hurry. I've advised others on this med, and know that often it can take longer to get off it, than you were even taking it. I just had a really bad day, and needed a little encouragement, I got through it, which just makes us all feel stronger. Thanks for the post. I feel good as gold today.
