I was perscribed Effexor and did not like it..Bad sisde effects etc. Plus i do not like the capsules..and would prefer to take a pill in tablet format.

So I called my doctor(get receptionist ofcourse) and express my concerns and ask if my doctor could suggest a new ant deppressant. She has never heard of lexapro.

I ask if my doctor can call me to discuss but apparrently the receptionist says she is too busy and I need to make an appointment which is three weeks away.

I really think I need to start something before that date and all I have is clonazaplan but try not to take them because of the addicting elements.

I am not sure what to do??

How long were you taking the Effexor? I know what you mean about the side effects, because when I started taking it, I almost wanted to stop because I almost couldnt take the side effects. But like most anti-depressants, you do have to take the side effects into consideration. They do pass, and you will start to feel better. My side effects included: nausea, a weird buzzing in my ear, loss of co-ordination and fatigue. This lasted maybe a week max and I have been on Effexor for almost a month. I do actually feel a lot better now, and I believe this drug just takes time to get into your system. Were you taking the extended release dose? I found that helpful because you aren't getting the full dose all at once, and its something that you only have to take once daily. If you have been taking it for over a week, you really shouldnt stop taking it, because it is a drug you need to taper off of. You may be feeling the side effects more if you take it one day... then not the next... then take it again... and so on. You need to give it time and take it on a regular basis for it to work. I find taking with food helps a lot with the nausea. Well if you decide to go off the Effexor I hope you find something that works for you! Good luck:)
