I am visiting a psychiatrist for the first time next week, and am considering going on medication. After doing research I do feel like this could be the best solution for me at this time.

However, I want to try to get pregnant within the next 6 months and am scared to begin medication so soon before trying. Does anyone have any advice on anxiety medication during pregnancy?

Talk to your psychiatrist and OB/GYN about an anxiety medication that is safe to take during pregnancy. I know there's some out there, but I can't think of any at the moment. Anyway, they're the ones that are the most qualified to know about which meds are the safest.

I just started taking Cymbalta. My doctor said you can take it right on up til your third trimester. Sounded pretty good to me.

My doc put me on Zoloft because I am still in my child bearing years (28) and she said it's the safest and most tested on pregnant women. I'm not currently pregnant, but my hubby and I would like to start trying in a year or so.

Definately talk to your Dr...I was on Lexapro for almost a year, and couldnt get pregnant only because I'm a guy ;) . No, seriously, it did really effect my drive. I've heard it does the same thing for the ladys?? Talk to your Dr though...and Good Luck :)
