I just received my Zoloft, the brand, from Canada and the 100mgs are white not yellow like I get here in the states. When I took the generic I had a bad reaction so now I am freaked out that these will do the same. Has anybody got any advise. These are suppose to be exactly the same as what I am taking now. HELP!

It's possible for people to have sensitivity to medications and be able to tell the difference between the brand name and the generic versions of the drug. It's all based on the drug company that manufactures the drugs. The active structure of the drug is the same, but the nonactive additives are different and some people can actually notice it.
If you hate the Sertraline ask your doctor to write on the prescription BRAND NAME ONLY and see how that works for you.
[Edit: I just wanted to say, I study neuropharmacology and I'm also sensitive to meds.]

I am taking Sertraline 100mgs right now. I have never taken the brand name Zoloft, just because the pharmacy I go to only offers cheap generics.
I did however take Paroxetine and the name brand Paxil. When I switched over to generic with that, the pills were different colors.
I never had a bad reaction to the switch over though. Did you look up the active ingredients in both to see if there was a difference? Maybe something that was added to the generic isn't in the name brand, and that caused the bad reaction?

I also know some Pharmacy's have really bad quality of generic's. I notice a difference with Xanax. I had the same prescription but refilled at 2 different pharmacys and they were differen't. The small chain pharmacy had a weak generic...and the big pharmacy had a better quality generic. I couldn't understand why one wasn't working I thought I was getting worse when reality was it wasn't me it was a bad generic.....I have never tried med's out of our country...being the difference with the FDA then again........look how many times the FDA has messed up
