I have been taking lamictal for several months now and recently got put on seroquil XR. Does anyone take these or know about these medications? Are they effective? I'd like to learn more about these meds and any personal experiences with them so that I can get an idea on how they might work for me. I am tired of experimenting all the time- trying different drugs and seeing if my moods balance out. I just want to stop the search and find something that works so that I can feel better.

Also, how does Xanax XR work? Is it like regular xanax, where it works better when you've had little or no food as compared to a big meal?

Hello,
I've only taken regular Xanax a couple of times and it knocked me out for hours, so I can't really help there, sorry.
What has your experience been with Lamictal (side effects, etc.)? What are you taking it for, if you don't mind me asking?

Leda, the lamictal is to stabilize my mood, although I don't know how well it's working since my mood changes very frequently. Sometimes I'm happy and sometimes I'm sad.
I've also been on regular xanax. It helped, but I asked my doctor to switch me to XR because I thought that maybe it's better to have a longer lasting one than to have something that works for a shorter period of time.
It's hard to know what medications are gonna be right. It feels like I am always experimenting with new medications or changing the dosage of a medication that I am already on. I just want to find the right combination of drugs so that I can stop crying all the time and start feeling better.

I am hoping that the xanax XR will work for me. I haven't tried it yet and am planning to get it today at my pharmacy.
