I just finished a month or so ago. I have a pretty good taper schedule if you interested.

Well, I'm down to .75 a day, from 2 mg a day, been mild but not fun. I'm doing about .125 cut around every 10 to 14 days. Just forgot about all the neck and head tension that comes with these cuts toward the end. But actually has subsided now for this go around. I know it gets harder the lower I go, but this was the first time I had the inside tremor feeling too. Oh well, I know it will be worth it, and have survived it before. Any insight will be helpful.

Hi!

I was put on Klonopin 6 months ago. Now I may be ready to start cutting back but am afraid I won't be able to handle anxiety without it. How did you know you were ready to try to wean off? I get head and neck tension and inside tremor feelings. Is that from the Klonopin?

Thanks!

Yes, definitely from the Klonopin, you start to hit a fine line between intradose withdrawal, and deciding to go down or up. I went up as high as 2 mgs and held there for months, then decided I needed to try. I am also doing yoga, running, CBT, reading books, etc. so I know I am trying "other" things. Yours may be this program, I don't know, but if all you are doing is Klonopin, then I wouldn't stop, because yes, the anxiety will return, you had it for a reason, and if you don't know why and fix that, it will return. I'm "trying", and if I fail, then I'll try again later. You will get weird feeling for sure, but it sounds like you already have them, that is the worst I feel, and its in the mornings mostly or if I'm startled awake especially. Feel free to PM me any time, its not easy, but it IS doable! SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW

I was on klonopin for about 5 years and am now off of it completely. You do need to go very slow with weaning. Anxiety and withdrawals are very much alike, in my opinion. pinkee

Dear Want2FeelGood Again,

Thank you! I don't know how to send you a Personal e-mail yet..just learning this system :)but thank you so much for your response. Mornings are when I feel those things before I take the Klonopin again. I'm also on Zoloft so thought maybe I could just go with that but my husband and I are thinking I may not be ready yet. I also have the same strange feelings when I'm startled awake and had wondered about that for some time. Best wishes to you! We all need each other!

I am also trying to wean myself off of the Clonazepam I have been taking for about a year. I am finding that if I am awakened for whatever reason at night - I get a huge rush of anxiety, which I am learning to breath and deal with. Here's to success getting away from these meds over time! Best wishes!
