Hi everyone. Okay, have a question. has anyone ever taken Wellbrutrin XL? My doctor yesterday prescribed me 150mg of this, mainly for quitting smoking, but also to stop me from being so grouchy. I have bad side effects from every med i have ever taken, so i am really scared to take this, especially since it is an anti depressant. I was suppose to take it last night but I am to scared.(any medicine that causes depression or the chance to become suicidal is not something i want to chance). the pharmicist said it could make me not sleep so she is not sure why he prescribed it at night, especially considering I told him I have not slept in 5 weeks, so for that he prescribed rivitrol for when needed. And I have never tried that one either, but it should be fine as benzos are the only meds my body is okay with. Any info on wellbutrin would be much appreciated. thanks

Everyone seems to have such a different reaction to the Wellbutrin. It was absolutely hell for me when I took it years ago to help me stop smoking. I didn't sleep for days. And then I've talked to other people who said they were fine with it. To begin with the 150mq was way too much for me and should have started on a very very low dose. I felt like someone had given me meth. Everyone's body chemistry is so different though and everyone may not react like I did.

I HAVE NEVER TAKEN WELLBUTRIN, BUT MY BOSS TAKES IT RELIGIOUSLY, AND SHE SEEMS TO BE DOING FINE WITH IT. I AGREE THAT ALL MEDS WORK DIFFERENTLY WITH EACH CHEMICAL MAKE UP. ANYWAYS, I HAVE A QUESTIONS. DOES ANYONE TAKE CYMBALTA. I SUPPOSE TO TAKE IT, BUT IT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING FOR ME. I MEAN EVEN WITH 60 MG. I FELT LIKE I WAS JUST TAKEN A VITAMIN. I NEED TO DO SOMETHING UNTIL I GET GRIPS ON MY EMOTIONS. I AM PUSHING EVERYONE AWAY. I NEED RELIEF, AND SOON!

i took cymbalta for almost a year and it really helped me. and i was on a lower dosage (40 mg. daily) so if it isn't helping you, you might want to tell your doctor that you need something else. cymbalta isn't one you want to abruptly just stop taking. i don't know how long you've been taking it, but it does take about three weeks to kick in.

THANKS THUNDERSNOW! I MEAN I KNOW THAT IT TAKES ABOUT THREE WEEKS OR MORE TO ACTUALLY WORK WITH MY NEUROS. I QUESS I JUST EXPECT QUICK RESULTS. I NEVER GAVE IT A CHANCE, AND I ALWAYS STOP WHEN I SHOULD OF CONTINUED TAKING IT( WITHOUT THE DOCTORS PERMISSION). I WILL EITHER GIVE IT ANOTHER SHOT OR ASK TO BE GIVEN SOMETHING ELSE. ROZ
