by Oh to be me again
I've recently had Buspar prescribed for me. I'm dealing with health issues that have turned me into someone I don't even know (atrial fibrillation--two cardioversions, medicine, etc.) and can't take hardly anything so since it's what my cardiologist recommended I want to give it a try. I'm on 7.5 mg twice a day--just started it two days ago. I didn't have any luck with Lexapro or Zoloft--both made me EXTREMELY nauseated.
The Buspar is making me slightly nauseous and a little dizzy, but I've heard that may go away after a few days. What is your experience?

I was prescribed Buspar a while back but it just made me feel so edgy and my fiance said I was very short and cranky with everyone. I discontinued using it after a couple of days. I have been on Zoloft for 3 years and am now in the process of weaning off of it. I am down to 1/4 pill a day and feel fine. The program has helped me so much.

I took Buspar at one time and it helped alot but took it again years later and it actually gave me more anxiety. Go figure. Never had the nausea from it though.

I was nauseated and dizzy for the first few days of taking Buspar. It leveled off and now I don't have any discernible side effects.
I was told it could take at least a week for the side effect to wear off.

Thank you for your responses about Buspar. I had to quit taking it last night when I developed a rash. Even though that is not a side effect attributed to Buspar, the pharmacist said it can happen from any medicine. I had a SEVERE rash several weeks ago and with my track record, the doctor and pharmacist said stop the Buspar. My dermatologist thinks it is Exema or something similar due to dry skin. But when I started taking the heart drug again which we suspected caused the really bad rash, a light rash appeared after two days. But, I had also tried on new clothes and the rash seemed to be where the new clothes touched. So, I reverted to Ativan which doesn't bother my stomach, but I know is more habit forming. But, I think I need something right now just to get back to myself and that doesn't break me out.
