THIS, I can help with. My husband has taken Maxalt many times. He gets migraines and HATES to take meds. This is not a narcotic, but he is out like a light when he takes it, probably from the relief of the symptoms, and he has zero side effects. He gets the kind of migraines that he throws up, can't sit up, and can not handle any bright lights. It absolute saves his life when one hits like within an hour. Now his brother can't take it because he is a smoker and takes meds for BP, so he takes something different. But my hubby would give Maxalt a 2 thumbs up!!!

I can help with this too. I have taken this in the past. Here's what webmd.com has to say about it:
Rizatriptan (Maxalt) is used to treat migraines. It helps to relieve headaches, pain and other symptoms of migraines, including sensitivity to light/sound, nausea, and vomiting. Prompt treatment allows you to get back to your normal routine and may decrease your need for other pain medications. Rizatriptan does not prevent future migraines or reduce how often you may get a headache.
Rizatriptan belongs to a group of drugs called triptans. It affects a certain natural chemical (serotonin) that constricts blood vessels in the brain. It may also block other pain pathways in the brain. Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, numbness/tingling/prickling sensations, redness (flushing), tiredness/weakness MAY occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly.

Maxalt also gets pretty high reviews from other users as far as effectiveness and satisfaction go. The important thing to remember is that the sooner you feel symptoms and can take the Maxalt, the better your chance of relief. If you've had a migraine for week, it may be less effective.

I conquered migraines though I never believed my doc when she said we could. I only have occasional occurences so hang in there, try to relax, eat some good food if you can and get some rest in a dark, quiet room if possible.
Let us know how you guys fare. Beverly

I take Maxalt and truly love them, I have migraines quite often and without Maxalt I don't know what i would do. I haven't had any side effects and it's the only way I can get rid of my migraines.
