Lexapro Plateau

Since December (10mg/day) I’ve very gradually worked my way down to 1/2 pill (5mg) per day. I’ve been at this lower dose for a month now. Now I want to start down some more but I’m a bit concerned about my condition.
Right now at this (5mg) dose I feel perfectly normal. Like my old self long before my GAD attack. Except that I am calmer than I used to be and I don’t let things (negative thoughts, fears, etc) build up inside me. Still, because everything is working fine now (except for an over stimulated appetite), I feel a bit apprehensive about lowering my dose any more. But I really need to get off this drug and stop gaining weight!

Has anyone else faced this dilemma? I guess I’ll never know if I can handle it on my own unless I move forward with becoming Lexapro free. I’m open to any and all comments :)
Peace be with you and God Bless.

I hate the weight gain also, but am not ready to give up my Lexapro. I just ordered a book written specifically for people on antideps who gain weight called The Seratonin Power Diet.

I wish you luck, I have weaned off of Paxil 2 times successfully, so it is possible to get off meds.

Hang in there,

Jacqui
