Hi all, I am taking Lexapro for anxiety and doing the program. My doc suggested a B complex vitamin, but I am nervous to take it b/c I already have extreme anxiety and it says it promotes energy. Has anyone taken this with anxiety and found their anxiety increased? Thanks alot everyone, Maria

Hi Maria,

I have been taking a multi-B vitamin for several months now, actually, I am taking the Good Days that were introduced with the program. I also take a liquid B with Ammino Acids. I have found no increased anxiety with the supplements. I have noticed that my anxiety is not as severe since I've started the supplements. Not sure if the vitamins have anything to do with it. May I ask how you are doing on the Lexapro? I have samples that my doctor would like me to try, however I am afraid of taking them. I have a hard time taking a cold tablet. Hope this little bit of information may help. :)

Take Care..

Hi
I would just like to say that I started taking lexapro about three weeks ago and I am beginning to see improvement. My mood is up and my anxiety is down. I have taken many different meds for anxiety and depression and I am pleased with lexapro. I was taking zoloft and it didn't seem to be helping me much lately so my doctor had me switch.

Hope this helps.

I am taking a B Complex 50. It really does seem to help with the lingering anxiety.

Thanks guys. Anyway- it was a moot point, because I looked and my multi vitamin that I was taking already had 100 of the b complex vitamins. lol.

Anyway, to Rainydays, I am very sensitive to meds and was very scared to start them, but since I used Lexapro a few years ago and it helped, I am just weaning up slowly like I did last time. I started at 2.5 for a few days, then 5 mgs for a week and just yesterday to 7.5 (will do that for a week). Its funny, b/c I had a horrible night last night and this morning, but I attribute that to the increased dosage yesterday. Yesterday, however, I had a great day where I almost felt like my old self 100%. I was giving thanks to God all day and was so happy- no anxiety. But again, since I need to probably go up to 10mg, I had to increase and am just taking my xanax to counter it. I hate this feeling, trust me, but it is worth it in the end. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions. Lord knows, I always have a ton. Maria

Hey Maria, I have been taking B Complex for a long time now, at least 2 years and it does help alot with anxiety! If you think taking the pills will bother you since taking anything probably makes you weery, I know I do, then try eating alot of foods filled with Vitamin C and B vitamins such as fruits. You can look it up on google which has the most content.

The great thing with B complex is that it is Water soluable and hence it needs to be replenished everyday.

Hope anything I said might help!

Maria,

Thank You for your reply. You are like me, if I have a good day, which come very rarely, I am so happy and so thankful. People just don't know how lucky they are to have days that are not filled with anxiety and panic. If I knew the Lexapro will help me feel like myself again, I would start it today. I am just so afraid of any side effects. I am glad you are feeling better. The whole world is so much brighter when we feel normal. Again, thank you for your reply..

B complex is very good for the nevous system.
Most people don't get enough of the B vitamins in food because they don't eat a nutritious diet.
If you do eat the right foods, perhaps just a good one-a-day vitamin would suffice.
I have taken B vitamins for years. They seem to have helped. How much, I reall don't know.
But they never hurt. Your system just eliminates what you don't need.

There is lots of material available about vitamins on the internet and also in the libraries everywhere.

Hi all! I am so happy to read all of your posts. I too am very sensitive to medications. They seem to make my anxiety worse before they make it better. That is why I am so scared to switch my meds. I have been on 20mg of celexa, and it seems to bumb out during my cycle. So, my doctor wants me to switch to Zoloft. I am completely freaked about it. I know the feeling better part is worth all the crap in the middle, but I hate the feeling....Does the Xanax really help counter act the side effects? The doctor said I could take Ativan while making the change to help...Just the idea of being on two medicines at the same time that make things worse for awhile is a freaky idea. I am supposed to wean down to 10mg of celexa for 5 days, then start the 25mg of Zoloft with the 10mg of celexa for 3 days and then stop the celexa and continue with the Zoloft. Has anyone done this before? What was it like? I am so scared of going completely off kilter!

I guess I need to take my B vitamins too from all of the positive reports. I can only say that I just took a little drop of the xanax when I felt so anxious`and it was such a relief
to me and that was before the antidepressant Zoloft kicked in, because that took about eight weeks and that seems forever when yu are experiencing so much anxiety. I was scared to take anymore of it because had heard that iut could becme very addictive. Now very rarely do I take it because seem to be having good results wth Zooft at 50mgs. I am feeling very tired wth t at times though, so I guess every med has its drawbacks. But starting tomorrow I will take my B's. Good luck to everyone, stephanie
