I was just wondering if anyone has used this and if it helped with your anxiety. I am 23 and 2 weeks prior to my period I get bad anxiety/depression/moodswings/bloating/confusion/racing thoughts/DR and DP/high and low sex drive etc. . does anyone know if this could be caused by an Estrogen dominance or could it be a progesterone dominance? I am afraid to put on this cream cause what if i have too much progesterone and thats what makes me feel this way 2 weeks before. But I hear this is usually because of too much estrogen. Cant go to the dr any time soon so i just wanted some input. I started feeling this badly when i got off birth control pills several months ago. I was taking ortho tricyclin LO. So now i am off it i feel bad and im thinking wait. . dont BC pills shoot out a lot of estrogen? . . So is it maybe i have too little estrogen now? I dont know. ahh. ladies, please help.

This is just my own knowledge from what I've researched and experienced but the symptoms you have before your period is because your estrogen declines just before you period. At the same right, I also know that not sleeping well totally screws your hormonal balance and you can have too much estrogen compared to progesterone..

I was prescribed some Progesterone by my MD but after doing some research I found it could be a bit risky in that you don't want to take too much and you need to take just the right amount.
Because of that I started taking something called "Estrosense".

It is all natural and it balances your hormones.. whether you have too much or too little estrogen. This seemed very safe to me and you can take it every time just when you get your period. In any case, it has worked very very well for me. You can check and see other products that have phytoestrogens in it. They are also very good for helping with PMS symptoms. They do the same thing.. balance you out. Recently I heard of a product called
"Femal". It is not phytoestrogens but something made from natural bee pollen. It is supposed to be very good.

I may have given you too many suggestions, sorry, but I just believe that these are better and safer alternatives to progesterone (and cheaper!). Please keep in mind that I've read that some people have done very well with progestrone cream.. I guess it's just comes
down to a personal decision..

p.s. Holly, if you want to take the progesterone cream I would recommend you to have a blood test done that will show you your hormone levels. I wouldn't take anything like that blindly.. I had the blood test done by my MD before he prescribed it to me. I just opted out of it and took the Estrosense instead.

I hope I've been some help.

I used the natural transdermal progesterone cream for two weeks every month. There is no doubt it helped my anxiety, PMS, and insomnia. I was estrogen dominant and the dosage was monitored by my doctor. I was also though, perimenopausal at the time so your case due to your age is probably different. I used to tell my doctor that the progesterone was as good as valium lol

Holly,

I went to a homeopathic pharmecist who also has a degree in natural medicine. He talked to me for over an hour about the symptoms I was having and then explained how the hormones in your body work. The whole thing made so much sense. Its a pretty lengthy explanation and I don't really have time to go into it at the moment...but I am VERY careful as to what I put in my body and when he explained it all it was like DUH!! I mean everything from being constipated to having PMS EXTREMLLY bad! I took the progrestone cream starting the first day I started feeling the symptoms. I rubbed it on my body once a day until I started my period. There are eight different areas you can rub it on and you alternate each time. After 2 months of doing that I was a totally different person!! It was WONDERFUL!!! I could even tell a difference the first week I took it! I don't have to use it very often anymore....just kind of levels out the progestrone in your body. I'm all for it!!

Oh Holly...forgot to mention...the doc that I talked to started out talking to me about premenapause but he explained how when your estrogene dominate your body is going through the same type of things....hope that makes sense. Anyway, I'm 27 and far from menapause...can't even spell it right...lol So anyway, hope all of that helps :)

Cool Mindi thank you. Did you ever take a blood test to find out if you had low levels of Estrogen and that is why you take progesterone cream? So when you have estrogen dominance, you feel premenopausal? That is how I feel 2 weeks before my period. thanks for the reply and maybe sometime you when you have time and feel like it can tell me what that guy told you about hormones!!
