I was on celexa for three months first at 10mg and eventually at 60mg, but i still had a lot of episodes of anxiety. My psyc. switched me to effexor xr and said to take half celexa and half effexor xr for a week and then just take effexor. I felt great on the effexor and celexa but when i started taking just the effexor i felt very tense and anxious.
So i was wonderin if anyone is on both, and it it possible to take both an snri and a ssri?

I take celexa and have been for awhile. I think it makes me a little sleepy and has a more calming effect than other ssri I have tried, so maybe you're missing that, just being on effexor. Are you practicing the relaxation?

I have been on both in the past. However, the full dose of Effexor was too strong for me. I started having insomnia with as much as 28 hours without sleep. Celexa worked well for me at one time; however, you may want to ready my profile.
