I've been on 10mg of Prozac for 5 days. On the first day, after taking it... within 2 hours I had a rash on my inner, upper arm. My prescribing doc says she thinks it's coinsidental and that it's a "contact" rash. My gut tells me otherwise.
Also, I don't like how I'm feeling on it at all! I feel more anxious. This is my first time on any type of med. I don't even take tylenol but once a year. Any help?

I was put on Prozac initially too. Although I did not get a rash, I did become worse. I didn't have suicidal thoughts until I started on the medicine. I am now on Zoloft and have not had any issues. Talk to your doctor. If you don't like what she says, go to another.

Thank you! Do you remember if you stopped the Prozac gradually? I took it for 5 days and want to stop it now to see if the rash will go away.
I am waiting to here back from my Dr. to know if I can quit cold turkey since its only been 5 days.

Call your pharmacist ! ! They can tell you how to get off it. Its only been 5 days so you shouldn't get withdrawls. I was on Paxil and boy i hated it. It made me feel worse. Just after one day of taking it i stopped it. I knew the bad feelings i was feeling was from the Paxil. . . I think there are better anti depressants out there and if it makes you feel so bad I'd talk to your doc about switching. I hear Lexapro is good. . But i would call your pharmacist asap! they are quicker than your doc and know a lot about meds. when i told my pharmacist about what i was feeling he said to stop taking it. . good luck
