I thought I heard somewhere if you go to different pharmacies for the same medicine/prescription/dose the cost is different. Is this true?
Example: A prescription for Zoloft 20 mg will cost, say, $35 in CVS and in Duane Reade--for the same medicine/dose--it costs $50.00.

Really?? I thought it was the type of insurance you had?? If that is the case than maybe I can find my Lexapro cheaper at another pharmacy.

All pharmacies have different prices,my question is when can we live without the meds???

Wow! I thought that was the case just recently when I got a refill on BP medicine. I had before Oxford and the cost was $15. With Aetna, my new carrier, it's $44.00! I just about had a heart attack when the clerk told me the price.

I'm not sure about the anti-anxiety meds, but I found that you can mail order meds from Costco and you don't have to be a member to use the pharmacy.
I looked for my Lyme Disease meds and for my prescripton, WITH my insurance, it was $135 for 20 days worth. At Costco, WITHOUT my insurance it's $150 for the full 30 days.
The nice thing is, you can go to their site and look up the price of the prescription by strength, # of pills, ect.
