Stress Center Peer Support

I've been on Luvox now for 13 years - just 100MG a day which I take right before bedtime. I haven't had any side effects during this time but oddly have when I have tried quitting it in the past. By the middle of the following day after not taking a dose I'd get to feeling off balance or slightly dizzy - neither accurately describe the feeling but the best I can come up with.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience - I explained this to two doctors now and they both have advised just staying on it and not worry about any long term side effects.
Only reason I'm asking is since I've just got this program I'm holding out hope that I can deal with this problem drug free - but don't want the side effects of going off unless they disappear after a short amount of time (days not weeks).

My experience had been that you should not get off of these kinds of meds all at once.
Especially after that many years. You'd probably need to get off very slowly.
Also when I have tried reducing I find that I've had withdrawal much longer than just days.
It takes weeks.
But I've never been on that one that you take.
I'd work the program for a good while before I'd try reducing the meds.
And yes, I think that more doctors have that attitude than those that want to help you reduce. That has been my experience. But you know your doctors better than another person would.
So I would first work the program. And if you dicide to reduce the med you better decide to do so very very slowly.
