Medication when Pregant Help please

Hi there,

OK I just started taking Lexapro and Klopin Lexapro at 15 and Klopin 1 mil for 3 months now it it is working great. I just got pregant with my 3rd child and worried. I called my doctor and they said to get off they Klopin fast. So now I'm at one half of it and then go to .5. I have read that it's safe to take.5 is this realy true and how much Lex can you be on when pregant. I don't want to hurt the baby I'm one month along. Any advice for people who are pregant. A friend of mine is pregnant and on lexapro but she started it in the 2nd trimester. I would ask the doctor...

Depends on the doctor, and the severity of your symptoms. I had my third child last April, and he is a happy, healthy 7 month old. I took Prozac and Klonopin 1mg throughout the whole pregnancy as my panic attacks without the meds were deemed more detrimental to the baby than the meds. I even took Ambien 5mg at bedtime. My doctor worked closely with my psychiatrist, and they monitored me and everything went swimmingly. My doctor told me really the only potential issue was a slim chance the baby would have a day of Prozac withdrawal, which he did not. I've seen lots of different opinions on here on this topic, and different docs think different things. In my case the anxiety was way more dangerous to the baby and to me, and I am so glad I took the meds and was able to then function, care for myself, and add this amazing little man to our family.
