This is my first week in the program

A dear friend who went through severe anxiety introduced me to the program. I've been in it for a week and have been working the steps. I had several good days and hit a wall today. Is this normal? Karen

Welcome to the program! How great your friend was so open and sharing of her story.
To answer your question: It is very common, especially at the beginning of the program, to have ups and downs. Because we have made a habit of the negative thinking cycle and anxiety it takes a while to build new thoughts and actions. Stay positive and keep practicing. Be kind and compassionate with yourself and take good care of your body.
