blood pressure- white coat syndrome

Post by CarolM » Tue Mar 27, 2012 3:17 pm

my blood pressure might be a little high but when i go to the doctors it shoots up! esp if they use those wrist monitors. it's like the more i try to calm down the worse it is. anyone else have that problem?

Yes, Carol, I have the same issue. And was hoping somebody would have offered you support. I'm going through this now and get really nervous and am trying to figure out how not to let it bother me. I know we can crack this, too! Stay positive!

Thanks Michelle! Yeah, it takes time to change. I hate when when they tell me it's high, it sends me into a panic. But I have a monitor at home now so i'm learning how much white coat syndrome affects it. It was even up at home but the more i take it more more I get use to that band tighten and now my readings are getting better and better. thanks again :)
