Hi everyone,

Sometimes I need a break from my self help books. I read every day, mostly before bed, I sometimes feel transformed to a different place and time, this significantly contributed to my recovery from anxiety attacks.

I recently read "The Shack" and wanted to suggest it to other book lovers. I don't want to give any details regarding this book-just read it! For those that have read it I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

The book is a novel based on a true story. It basically has to do with a mans soul struggles and his encounter with God that changed his life. He was a man abused as a child and suffered great losses and suffered a deep sadness. I dont want to tell you too much, but it is an awesome book. It is not a "christian" book necessarily but it will help you deal with a lot of mind struggles. Read it!

Yes!! The book "The Shack" is an awesome novel.. It helped me to reframe my idea of God and it also helped me to look at my own stumbling blocks to a healthy life and relationships with others.

I also read this book and really enjoyed it. As a Christian I didn't find it particularly Biblical but don't deny that it has some strong spiritual undertones. If you are a very strong Christian you might find it a little controversial.

sounds great.. I'll have to make it out to the book store and pick it up ASAP. thanks for the recommendation! Selp-Help books can be well.. helpful. But I'd really like to get into a novel like that.

I'd also like to recommend East of Eden by John Steinbeck. It's an amazing book! ..beautifully written. You'll laugh and cry and.. it's just the best! Go to Amazon.com to learn more about it. Do not watch the movie, it gives the novel no justice.
