Does anyone ever get this. I sometimes get a pain in my left chest pectoral. It is like someone is pinching me. It just scares me. I have had ekg's, chest xrays and all come back negetive.

Yes, I have had it for 10 years now. It is also sore to touch, so I treat it like any sore muscle and rub it and take anti-inflammatories, stretch and breath. I also try to not associate it with a heart attach anymore and realize what it really is, which is just a sore muscle that has been overworked because I have been breathing funny or holding myself tense because of work or stress. I hope you can get comfort in the good news that your medical test came out ok :)

I too have had it for like 3 years now since i was diagnosed with GAD. My anxiety is under control now...but i still get chest pains when im anxious, i'm not scared of them anymore coz i trust the results i got from all the EKG's and ECG's i had and like you it all came out negative.

i also have been feeling those exact same pains and have had physicals which always come back good. the way you said holding yourself tense because of work really hits home. it's been a few weeks now with these pains and i take comfort in knowing im not the only one feeling this and i will start trying to not associate them with heart attacks!

aruba,

You may have costochondritis which is not a cardiac issue but actually an orthpedic one.
Here are links on it.

I have this. I get it alot when stressed, anxious and/or worried. And I too have gone thru all the tests you mentioned and also blood tests (when I went into the ER), stress test, nuclear stress test, and overnight heart monitor on a halter. And like you everything is negative. The cardiologist after the nuc stress test said I have the healthiest heart he's seen in 2 years.

I actually had a bout this afternoon when I was looking up how to deal with situations that upset me. It went away within 20 minutes. I put a muscle pain patch on the center of my chest.

I thank everyone here because your decisions to believe the negative cardiac tests helps me to remember my own negative test results. :)
