Anyone else having this trouble with blushing, It comes every summer. As I may have said before, My entire face goes bright red, not just cheeks etc. I thought heat triggered it but I don't know, it only comes in the summer, You feel the burning starting, You then say to yourself "Oh no I'm starting to go red" this adds fuel to the fire, and before you know it you have a a face like a tomato. I don't even have to be out of breath or even feel warm for it to happen. I like to work out at home, and when I am on the treadmill I am roasting sure I look a bit flushed but I don't get my tomato head.
I'm sure its something to do with anxiety but don't have a clue how to fix it, I love summer (or I did) but I am just to embarrased to go out in the sun in fear of getting an attack.

Could it be a hot flash? Do you feel anxious when it happens or it just happens? Sounds like overheating to me, like a hot flash or you just get hot easily. I wouldnt worry about it at all, so you get a red face, it wont hurt you and lots of people get that. Go on and enjoy your summer.

Also are you on any meds that cause sun sensitivity?? Lots of antdepressants and anti-anxiety meds can cause sun sensitivity especially in some people. It vcould also be that if you take meds? And wearing a strong sunscreen should help it.

Could you be allergic to the sun? My dad was and had to wear a hot and long sleeves all the time. Good luck.

Sounds like it could be Rosacea, which I have. I'm of Irish ancestry too and it's fairly common among the N. European bunch. It's genetic and it looks adorable when you're young. As you get older it becomes less adorable and more problematic. Generally it's fairly benign and although there are treatments, they are not particularly effective. The condition is made worse by: heat, spicy foods, stress, exercise, alcohol, etc. In my case, especially heat, tomato sauce, and red wine or beer. If you're concerned, you should see a dermatologist. You may be one of the lucky one's for which treatment actually helps.
