Hi everyone,
I know I am supposed to be keeping a journal of my feelings of anxiety and try to pinpoint the triggers. I'm having a problem doing that. Any suggestions on keeping a really good journal?

All our journals are probably a little different. I jot down negative things that are going thru my head, what I complain about to myself (and others), the negative things I say to myself about myself. Then I try to change a lot of the statements to more positive, realistic, or compassionate ones. A really good journal would be one that fits you and helps you see what triggers the anxiety.

Well I discovered anything that took my peace away.....my calmness away....Obviously was a trigger......now it was up to me to determine what is the root of that trigger???? A book couldn't do that for me......even being my own author......one emotion.....one step.....one moment at a time did. I had to do some house cleaning with my life and make some drastic changes with it to either eliminate or minimize the triggers........I choose happiness. I'm not sacrificing it for anxiety any more.......

I had a hard time with the journal, I didn't even do it. But I got a blank journal for Valentine's Day and, at my husband's urging, started to write some scriptures down that were uplifing or anything that was positive.
I'm addicted to it now and write everything from trials to triumphs. Things pour out of me and I come across a lot that I want to remember. I had this crazy thought at first that anything I wrote that was negative would stay with me because that was what I was focusing on. But it turned out to be a blessing to unload, even if I never read it again.

I have also been having trouble journaling. I was just using a notebook so I thought maybe if I found something pretty it might help. I have been looking for two weeks now. Last night I was shopping and wasn't even thinking about a journal. I was looking in the book section at devotional books and there was this promise journal. On the cover it says God Comforts You and inside there are scriptures and quotes and other writings to help lift you up. I am really excited to see what each day is going to say. I found it at Wal-Mart but I'm sure you could find one at most book stores. I hope this helps.

I have a journal beside my bed. For two years now, I have been writing down things I am thankful for in the morning and at night. It could be "hearing the birds sing" or it could be "our neighbor helped shovel our driveway". It might be simple or complex. I always feel blessed after I extend my thanks for my blessings. Doing this may inspire you to "talk" about something further.....I hope this helps you.
