I want to quit work because of my boss being a jerk and certain employees are treated better than others. I will be going on a business trip soon and was going to take a couple of days of vacation around those days like I have done in the past and now he says that I might not get those 2 days off!!! He says it's a busy time of the year for us, but it's not for me. I'm not jealous of the very few people that get treated better and get what they want, I just want what's good for one is good for all. I can't quit my job because it pays the bills and there isn't anything else out there right now. The economy is in the tank so leaving a good paying job now is not the smart thing to do but my anxiety and depression is through the roof. I want to go in and air my grievences but know he will turn everything around and against me. This really sucks, I never imagined working at a job I hate so much, mostly because of the boss. He's also the owner.

Kodiak I know the feelings ou are experiencing. My job sucks too and I haul garbage. I had an accident ten years ago and lost my ability to read and write now it is some what better but from business owner to garbage is a sour pill to swallow. It could always be worse and keep your head up don't let the jerk win.

Hi Kodiak44,
My husband just spent the past year at his former job going through a lot od garbage due to bad management and obnoxious bosses. So he bagan looking for all jobs in his field and within the same pay bracket or close anyway and sent out resumes.
Finally he was hired by a great company and is now treated fairly, appreciated for his hard work, and so much happier. Also he is home each night now. He was gone 4 days a week due to distance from home to job. Too far to commute.
You have an unhappy job YES...the economy is bad but you just may find a new job where you are treated properly. What do you have to lose...a lot of anxiety.
Check it out..you never know what door will be open for you.
Good Luck, Try to just think he's an unhappy, person and I deserve better.

I think we work at the same place ! LOL You have to do what it takes to look after your health. That's priority one. I am on vacation this week and the thought of going back on Monday makes me sick ! I was told today to live in the moment. If I take this journey thinking about tomorrow and next week and next year, I'll drive myself crazy ! Do what you need to do today and today only.

Thanks everyone. I have been helped already by talking to some of my co-workers that feel the same. It's fun and a big stress relief to talk to them about the terrible way he runs this place and then we end up laughing about how big an idiot he is. The day is getting a bit better.

JUST A THOUGHT... YOU DONT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING RIGHT NOW. SOMETIMES CHANGING JOBS CAN BE REALLY STRESSFUL. YOU CAN CHANGE JOBS, BUT AT LEAST WAIT TILL YOU HAVE ANOTHER LINED OUT AND THEN PUT IN YOUR TWO WEEKS NOTICE. RIGHT NOW YOUR JOB PAYS THE BILLS. DONT BE TOO HASTY AND MISS THE WAY. JUST CAUSE YOU ARE TEMPTED TO QUIT DOESNT MEAN YOU HAVE TO MAKE THAT DECISION RIGHT NOW. WEIGH ALL YOUR OPTIONS FIRST BEFORE YOU BURN YOUR BRIDGES. IT MAY SAVE YOU SOME PROBLEMS DOWN THE ROAD. YOU MAY EVEN WANT YOUR OLD JOB BACK SOMEDAY; MAYBE THE OLD BOSS WILL BE GONE BY THEN. JUST TAKE IT SLOW AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION. WITH THINGS LIKE THIS I TELL MYSELF "I DONT HAVE TO QUIT NOW, I CAN QUIT NEXT MONTH." SOMETIMES BY GIVEING IT TIME, THINGS STRAIGHTEN OUT BY THEN.
