OK, glad to know I'm not the only one with this.

Wow. I'm glad that someone brought this post up. I could have written it myself. My ophthalmologist said that there is nothing wrong with my eyes it is a "brain" problem. I am going to a neuro-ophthalmologist next month.

This all started about 2 months into my severe anxiety. I know it is anxiety related. It has to be.

I have a hard time going to the grocery store because everything shimmers. All the colours and the shelves...my eyes can hardly focus. I have had this problem for a while, and I have it 24/7. It is like when you look at hot pavement and you see waves of heat. I have had my eyes checked and they found nothing wrong. I am worried it is some neurological disease. Anyone else had this experience?

HI Suncastle
I have shimmering vision also. Mine has lasted 3 years now. What part of NZ are you from? I am also a kiwi. Can you please send me your email address as I would love to talk to you about who you have seen as what the latest is for you.

Hi! I am from NZ and suffer dreadfully from vibrating vision. I cannot read for more than about 15 minutes or everything is just so blurry. I have spent $500 on new glasses however, this has done nothing to help. I have been to an Eye Specialist three times who has no answer. Does anyone associate this problem with stress. look forward to some feedback

I just got this weird shimmering for the first time this morning. I closed each eye in turn but it was still there. I take that to mean it's not in my eyes but something in the brain or the optic nerve. It started as an arc along the top curving down to the left. You know when you press on an eye-ball you get a spot in the opposite corner - what are those things called? It was similar to them. It slowly moved up and out of the way & has stopped after around 20 minutes. I'm wondering if it's something to do with blood-sugar levels. This was first thing when I got up today. Anyone else think there's a link with blood chemistry/flow?
