hi everyone. im hoping someone can put me at ease so i dont have to make an ER visit
yesterday evening.. i had these small stabbing chest pains which came and go.. 60secs the longest at times. anyhow...i thought it was heartburn/GERD.. so i tried to avoid it.. and take some antacids.. but no go.. it slowly would go away, but it would come right back... at least 4x an hour.. it happened all night.. it was fine when i slept.. woke up.. and started right back up.. started off slow.. so i had my BF remind me it just heartburn, and i need to do something about my eating habits. mind you i had fried fish last night..my throat was burnig by the way last night..

im at school now and cant shake the feeling that something worst is there.. im trying really hard to not let myself think im having a heartattack/ or something in that nature.. the more i think about it. is making my pains worst. im sitting here anxious.. debating if i should fight or flight... this is a new symptom from my anxiety..and i dont like it.. when it stops.. im fine. but once it starts up again. my mind wonders. back to the "what ifs'.. Angelaaaa! Hi. It's Joe. Hey, you're ok. Just look how it goes away when you sleep. I'm glad that you have your boyfriend to provide you with comfort. It's funny how with support, the situation is easier to handle. You're ok. You're heart never stops beating so if it were something major, you'd feel it all the time. I'm sure it's the fried food and stress you're putting on yourself. Remember, we do this to ourselves. It's out of our control at times but really not. Anyway, try and focus on something else. Be positive! I know, easier said than done! I'm back around here in the last few days because I'm not doing too great either. My anxiety, stress, etc. has increased. = ( It's so frustrating but we just have to keep in mind that this is how we're wired and well, it's never fully going to be gone. It's more about how much we can control this. Big hugs...

I can't say what it is you have, but my husband had something similar many years ago.

He rarely sees doctors, but it concerned him so eventually he saw the doc and they told him it was a muscle pain and gave him some pain relievers. It was temporary though, he had it for a while but after it left, it never came back.

Oh, and fried fish - I could see that. Anything fatty is going to set up gerd like symptoms.

Angela,

I have had the same stabbing pains - so much so that they would wake me from a dead sleep. I talked to my doctor about them and (very long story short) we ended up going to the ER as a precaution, only to have all the tests return negative for any cardiac issues.

However, in a follow-up visit with an Echocardiogram, we discovered I have a bi-cuspid valve and an aneurysm in the heart. They Drs. said this should not cause the pain I was experiencing, but it was good to find out about my heart issues this way (vs. the alternative!)

Bottom line: I'd suggest you see your doctor and ask about Angina, Heartburn, esophogitis, and have them do a CT and Echo just to make sure the heart and surrounding organs are functioning properly.

My friend tackles Gerd using the Hallelujah Diet. She refuses to take meds, she also drinks ACV coc*tails (apple cider vinegar) when she eats.

Here's some links:

Hallelujah Diet

ACV info

Use Bragg's or any organic all natural ACV. I do not suggest using heinz, etc.

P.S. The filter didn't let me use the whole word above, think of a rooster with a tail, lol.
