A few years ago, I came across this test that demonstrates how powerful the mind is. I wanted to pass it along in case it helps some of you. All you need is some quiet time and your imagination.
When you have some quiet time, try to picture this in your mind. Get comfortable and close your eyes. Picture a lemon. See how yellow it is, see the texture. The more detailed you can do each of these steps, the better. Feel the rind, feel its weight. Then place that lemon on a cutting board and take a knife and cut that lemon in half. Feel the knife as it slices through the rind. See and smell the juice as it runs out on the board. Pick up half of the lemon, and take a bite out of it. If you are like me, your mouth should be watering at this point as if you had bitten into a real lemon, even though there is no lemon - except in your mind.
Now, here is the question of the day - if you can control your mind to the point of making your body think that you are biting into a lemon when you are not, then what effect do you think that allowing negative thoughts to live there will do for you? Even better, how do you think your body will react when you fill your mind with good thoughts? The trick is to learn to identify negative thoughts early and replace them with good thoughts. This is what I took away from this program and I hope you will too.
Best wishes to all,
