Hi Everyone,

I have the program from quite a few years ago(probably 2003ish) and I have read on here a few times how there is a girl talking about bladder/urinating symptoms on one of the tapes(which tape is it?) This is not on my tapes and my biggest and hugest struggle/symptom that is absolutely so frustrating for me. Would anyone mind telling me exactly what this girl said on the tape(the tapes must be newer than what I have???)I really wish this symptom was on my tape as I can relate to this so much. Does she say anything how she got over it or anything. I would appreciate anyone who could help me with what this girl said on the tape about her bladder.
Thanks so much!!!!!
I am reposting this because I think I posted it in wrong section before :)

Hey Irish. Like you i've had the program for awhile myself either 2003 or 2004. There was one person on lesson 2 that mentioned that the doctors diagnosed her with a urinary tract infection because part of her problem was that she had to go to the bathroom alot and that was all they could come up with. They couldn't figure out that it was anxiety. Are the new lesson tapes diffrent from the older ones?

The peeing thing is so irritating. I'm running to the bathroom all day lately.

I think as we feel more relaxed, our bladder muscles will relax too, and this will go back to normal.

Thanks for responding guys. I'll have to listen to tape 2 again to see if I can cath the urinary problem. I also wonder if the tapes are different with different peoples stories. I have had anxiety symptoms off and on for many years and just the last 2 months this peeing thing has developed and it is beyond annoying and frustruating, especially while at work. The scary thing is when I do pee, a lot comes out. Is this the same with you Dee? Like I constantly feel pressure and the need to pee and then everytime I pee(sometimes twice an hour) a lot comes out. The docs have not been able to find anything yet, but I cant help but think it is the start of something horrible. I love this program and website though, where else could we talk like this, lol

Yes, that's just how it's happening to me. It's just anxiety.

When we get stressed out, our body releases those stress hormones, which sometimes stimulates the nerves near the muscles along the bladder, which causes all of the running to the bathroom to urinate.

It's a problem cause it's irritating, but it's not serious.

I've had a urinary problem myself. It always feels like I haven't fully emptied my bladder when i pee. Also when i go to sit down or bend over I have some dribbling. I was concerned myself and so i had it checked out but i had nothing wrong physically. I think i agree with Deedee when she says it's anxiety related. By the way that was put very nicely deedee

I've noticed that when I get high on the anxiety scale, I have to urinate much more often than normal. When that happens, it seems that it is usually much more clear. It makes me wonder if it is just another part of the "fight or flight" response and the body is getting rid of excess water. I don't really know, but that's how I've always justified it to myself!

I also have a bit of OCD related to this issue. If I feel like I won't be able to use a bathroom in the near future (like before a drive, before a meeting, before a movie, ect.) then I often feel a strong urge to go. But when I do, there's often not much there. I think it's just the worry that I won't have a bathroom available when I might want one so I have the urge to do a "preemptive pee".

My Urologist told me that it is anxiety related. What happens is the muscle that holds your urine in becomes over-stilulated and that causes it to contract. This sends a signal to the brain that you have to urinate. He prescribed Uroxitrol for me, which helps a great deal, except when i'm stressed out. Then, it's like i'm not taking anything for it at all. The key for me is to manage my stress. When i'm not stressed, taking this medication has been wonderful. I sleep through the night and that helps with everything else!!!

thanks so much for the replies. they definitely make me feel better. i am a little scared at the moment because the urologis mentioned maybe it is the start of interstial cystis. usually i am never faced with a name of a disease by a doctor, usually they tell me it is anxiety so now i am really scared that i might have this chronic illness. i get to the point where i dont know which symptoms are anxiety and which symptoms might be due to interstial cystis, does anyone know what i mean? how do i figure this out?
