I haven't been to this site in about 5 years! But lately have had positional vertigo & gerd for about 2 months now. I wake up every morning tryig to use the skills taught in the program and end up sick and taking a xanex half way through the day. The doctor says it is my anxiety causing the symptoms and I say it is the symptoms causing the anxiety! Does anyone else experiance these two symptoms due to anxiety and will it ever go away? Really need some support. Thanks Tammy

I have Gerd and have had bought of vertigo in the past. My anxiety did not cause these things. I have a hiatal hernia that cases the GERD and when I have vertigo it is often from allergies and an inner ear disturbance. I took protonix and changed my diet for the GERD and took anti-vert and decogestants for the vertigo and it has cleared them both up. They would increase my anxiety because I didnt feel well but my anxiety didnt cause them, I had other things doing that. Has your doc ruled out why you are having GERD and vertigo, are you on any meds for them?

The doctor thinks that the gerd is stress related and wanted me to take prilosec daily, did not like the prilosec so am trying primadophilus bifidus, so far not much change. Also using the Braggs apple cider vinager. This seems to help some. The vertigo they say the calcium pebbles in the ear shift and get into the inner ear. She gave me meclazin, but it does not work. I take a .25 xanax when needed, it seems to settle down the dizzyness some but mostly just settles down my worrying about it. Wht is protonix, is it a natural remedy?

Your Positional Vertigo can usually be cured with one visit to a Doctor who knows the technique or to the local Physical Therapy office who will also do the manipulation technique. Better yet, do as I did and "GOOGLE" Positional Vertigo and see the technique you can apply to rid yourself of this problem. I have had vertigo several times in the past and was able to cure it in this manner.

I am surprised your Doctor wants to medicate and not do this simple procedure.

Best Wishes

Thank you, I have heard of the repositioning technique. But am a big chicken....When the doctor just did some simple maneuvers to determine that it was positional vertigo, I was sick for three days. I will try and google the actual technique and maybe give it a try at home. Thank you.
