Hello,
I've dealt w/ anxiety for over 17yrs, started at 13. And I've noticed different symptoms through the years, just as I've conquered one, a new one might pop up.
Lately i've been feeling dizzy,just dizzy,as if I stepped on a rocking boat. it's off and on all day.
I've had an extra ordinaryly stressful summer, travling alone w/ my small children, moving house, a parents divorce. That's just the big stuff...
I know this is probably my bodies response to alot of big events, but does any one have any advice on how to make it stop??
Cut back on coffee?
Sugar?
more rest?
Breathing?
Let me know what's worked for anyone, your input is invaluble. Thanks in advance for your time! Amber

Hey Amber....boy, can I relate to your post. Dizziness is a constant for me and has been for years! I don't have any real wisdom for you about how to make it go away, but breathing deeply and purposely slowly does help me some especially when I have the sudden dizzy spells that I some times get. I'll be interested to read what others have to say....if anyone else responds.

I can add to this topic. Dizziness is one of my worst symptoms with the anxiety!! I also have chronic ear and sinus issues which doesn't help. Cutting out caffeine will definitely help. Jason has a good suggestion with slowing down your breathing. I also try to focus on one thing in the room and sometimes that helps! It is one of my biggest fears and I am always worried that I am going to pass out. It is so hard. The problem is dizziness is one of those symptoms that can be caused by a million and one things and even if you have a million and one tests, most docs still don't know why. Good luck!

with my anxiety Im so paranoid about fainting now. If I ever get into social situations where I cant leave, I start to panic immediatily. I wish there was an answer

hi, i had the same thing for two weeks and the one thing that worked for me was to reduce my anxiety. find something thats really important to you and focus on it ( a picture, book or even imformation thats going to make you better) and give yourself hope, relax and say to your self * you will be ok * keep focusing on that item.

i can definetly relate to all you guys. i too suffer with dizzyspells... and feel im gonna lose oxygen to my brain. then pass out.. what works for me. is to sit/laydown in a dark room.. and hmmm a song..just to release the tension in my neck and shoulders... so far thats working..
but thats hard to do when im at work or school. thats something im working on.. cause i cant jsut get up and leave. so far i just put my head down.

Hi All:
Yep, dizzyness really sux ! What really works for me is to exercise, I run on a treadmill (or just around the block) for 10-15 minutes. I have to get my heartrate up to about 120bpm.. After I finish I feel great. I know it's the last thing you feel like doing but I was dizzy for two weeks and I got really scared which caused anxiety.
This may sound stupid but exercising that gets the heart rate up produces endorphines that to me seem to battle the dizzyness away..
