My neighbor left his card on my door because of a problem with the fence falling over. He lives behind us and we don't know him well.
I emailed him and then we were talking about where he works. I have a friend looking for work. As I was closing I said I'd keep his card because it looks like a great company and maybe I'd need to call him if I get laid off.
He emailed me to say please call. He had looked at my resume on linkedIn.
We talked and he said he'd like to interview me for a QA position. It sounds awesome! I have a job but this company sounds just amazing. He said they are needing someone very soon and not to delay sending my resume. I sent it without even putting together a cover letter (bad idea)
Later that day on Wednesday I emailed briefly just asking if he got it. He said he did and he sent it to another person that works there that I actually used to work with.
At what point should I follow up on this? My friend says I should call back on Monday but I don't want to be a pain.
I'd really like to work there. It's a Christian run company and sounds so perfect for me.
The other question is. . . should I just email my neighbor and cc in the hiring manager like I did when I sent my resume, or should I call him? Or should I look up the hiring manager's number and call him. . .
